Batebouers fokus nie op probleme nie maar het ‘n waarderende ingesteldheid.
Batebouers begin deur ondersoek in te stel na die bates of gawes wat reeds teenwoordig is in die gemeenskap en maak dan planne om hierdie bates te bou. Die Search Institute van Minneapolis Minnesota in die VSA het 40 gemeenskapsbates geïdentifiseer (lees meer daaroor op hulle webblad ).
