Four missional conversions
What can we learn from the fist 5 years of SAPMC? 2004-2009
2009 is a year full of celebrations. We celebrate Calvin’s 500 birthdays this year. At Stellenbosch we celebrate the 150th year of Theology. These are such big events that our celebration of the five years of PMC in Southern Africa is almost insignificant. It should serve us a warning that what we do this week is within a much larger historical perspective. In the tradition of H Richard Niebuhr I see my task not to give you a historical overview of events in the formation the founding and growth of SAPMC but to ask questions about God, and to be more specific about the in breaking of the reign of God into historical events, into the everyday life’s of ordinary people in Southern Africa. I do this with great humbleness, it is not our history, it is not our church it is not kingdom, it is Gods story, the Kingdom of God and of cause Gods people.
Living the Missional Calling - Day 1 Hope is in the air
Day 1 was a day of listening to incredible stories of missional breakthroughs. The storytelling was honest and connected to reality, but at the same time it filled with hope. More than once it was mentioned that there was HOPE in the air.
Ritual in liturgical and missional perspective
Ritual in liturgical and missional perspective.
Professor of Liturgical and Ritual Studies at the University of Tilburg and director of the Institute for Liturgical and Ritual Studies, Prof. Paul Post, will be presenting a paper on liturgy in the context of modern sacred domains. This topic is not only of interest to liturgists thinking about the worship service, but to many others, especially also those interested in missional theology and praxis. Prof. Post will be doing a presentation whereafter there will be an open discussion with him. The morning will conclude with a book presentation where refreshments will be served.
